2 of my plants as a hobby

Sweet Red Bell Pepper Plant

I bought this plant last year and started as a hobby for me on growing different types of plants, this plant survived through last years winter and was starting to bare a pepper when it was getting pretty late into the year, so the pepper it did have did not get very big, but this year is a different story as it is getting loaded with peppers :) .

One of the peppers that is growing this year

The pepper that had grown on it from last year, I took the seeds from and now have another plant starting to sprout from those seeds, the picture shown above is one of the new peppers growing on it this year, when it gets close to ready the pepper will turn red in color and be much bigger.

One of the Blooms on the pepper plant

Yeah I know nothing spectacular about the blooms or flowers on the plant but each bloom or flower turns into a pepper so currently there are about 4 or 5 peppers on the plant with several more blooms coming on.

Pineapple Plant

The above photo is my pineapple plant, I hope before much longer it will be ready to bloom also and produce a pineapple. I had set it up there for the time being on the front porch area and while you really cant see the leaves of the plant very well, they are turning a reddish color on top which is one of the first signs that it will not be much longer before it put on a pineapple.

Ok this Picture above with the Dish I took only because there is something extra there, can you spot what it is? Want a hint? It has claws and purrs LOL, yeah its one of the cats here a calico so rightfully named Calli.

Well just wanted to show off some of the things I do around here as part of a hobby and also to say Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful Mothers out there.

  1. Isn't it neat to cull the seeds and grow more. I absolutly love growing plants. peppers are one of my favorites. I have never had a pineapple plant. I don't think they do well in Texas. If I get a good cucumber or tomato, etc from the store. I save the seeds and plant too. some folks like the plant to be already grown and producing, but I like growing something from almost nothing.

  2. Me too on growing from seed, the Bell pepper plant though I bought as a sproutling and grew it from there, but the seeds from the one pepper it had, I now have another pepper plant, not counting the peppers it is having this year maybe more plants for the future, the pineapple I got from my father, he grows them and has another one for me, maybe he still does anyways they are not to hard to raise and you just have to move them some place out from cold air in winter but it does not have to be warm, just not ambient as outside.
